We love using travel credit cards to earn great rewards, including free travel (you can read more about that here), and one of our favorite credit cards to share with our readers is one that’s not exactly a travel card but has an AWESOME perk: the Disney Rewards Visa Card. This card has an introductory bonus offer that makes the card totally worth it!
There are actually two different Disney credit cards. The one we are recommending is the Disney Rewards Visa Card. If you sign up through our referral link, you will receive a $200 Disney gift card when you spend $500 or more in the first 3 months!! You have to use our referral link to get the gift card offer. If you go directly to the Chase website you aren’t able to get the $200 gift card offer. The gift card never expires, and it can be used to purchase things such as Disneyland or Walt Disney World tickets, Disney cruises, food and souvenirs inside of Disney parks, items at the Disney store and from the Disneystore.com, basically all things Disney! AND you can have your spouse sign up for a card as well for a total of $400 in Disney gift cards! There is no annual fee associated with the card, so that’s even better.
Once you earn your $200 Disney gift card, the Disney Rewards Visa Card doesn’t offer much value other than some discounts on Disney-related items. You earn 1% in Disney Dream Reward Dollars on all card purchases. In other words, for every $100 you spend on the card, you earn 1 Disney Dream Reward Dollar. And each Disney Dream Reward Dollar is equal to $1 when you redeem them toward Disney merchandise and offers. There are many other credit cards out there that offer much more valuable rewards. However, you shouldn’t necessarily cancel the card either though. Keep in mind there’s no annual fee and having open lines of credit with no revolving balance improves your credit score. You will want to use this card every once in a while so that it doesn’t go dormant and risk the credit card company closing your account. If you have plans to travel to a Disney resort there are some other perks, such as getting discounts on select Disney merchandise and dining. Look them up online before you go to make sure you get the most out of this card. If you are doing something Disney related, chances are there’s a possible discount available for something you were already going to spend money on.
You can use our referral link here. You can also find it on our Facebook page How We Do. Or if you would rather receive a referral link in your email, you can leave a comment below with your name and email address, you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or you can send us a message on our How We Do Facebook page, and we will make sure a referral code gets emailed to you. Also it’s important to keep in mind that once you reach the minimum $500 spend, it will take up to 8 weeks to receive your gift card, so plan accordingly (ours only took 4 weeks to come and recently we have had friends tell us they received theirs in 2 weeks).
Karli has had the Disney card for a couple years (when she signed up the signup bonus was a $100 statement credit) and used it at Disneyland last summer to take advantage of some of the additional perks. She has also earned over $100 in rewards that she used on our trip last July, lovingly referred to as the “churro fund”. Angie and her husband both signed up for the card and used their gift cards during the Disneyland trip last summer also. They earned $400 in gift card money! They used their gift cards on food and souvenirs inside the park as well as paying for parking! Seriously you can’t beat that! Sign up and start earning rewards for your next Disneyland trip today!
