How We Do and You Can Too!!

Angie & Chad DIY Bloggers at How We Do share their DIY and home improvement projects

This is an exciting announcement for us: We are on a mission to show you How We Do and you can too! What does that mean? Read on!

Our DIY Beginning

Pre-mom and dad life, Chad and I spent a lot of time doing DIY projects. I had grown up moving around a lot and we always painted our new house every time we moved. So I learned to enjoy projects early on. Shortly after we got married, Chad started working in construction. By trade he was a stone mason, but he also learned to do tile, granite, flooring, and more. At that time we also remodeled the home we lived in including removing popcorn ceilings and retexturing, painting everything, laying stone on the fireplace, installing new kitchen cabinets, granite countertops, and new flooring. This was all before Instagram was really a thing.

Then we started having kids. I was working full-time as a professor, Chad became a police officer, and our DIY projects gradually tapered off with our other responsibilities taking up our time. We’ve done projects since then, but we haven’t had the time to work on them very often.

Fast Forward….

Fast forward about 12 years, a new house, and four kids later. I just recently finished my last semester of teaching, our youngest started Kindergarten this year, and our now eight year old home is ready for some updates and a bit more character. I’m itching to get back into the DIY game.

So I’m turning my lifestyle blog into more of a DIY blog and hiring Chad as my workhorse! 😉 We’ve already started a handful of projects and have a list of several more. Now that I’m done teaching, I’m excited to have the time to spend transforming our home. Follow along as we show you “how we do and you can too”!

Love the Home You’re In

We believe your home should be a place you love, even if it’s not perfect or not your forever home. It doesn’t matter how big or small, how old or new. Whether you live in a 5th-wheel, an apartment, a farmhouse, or a mansion, you should enjoy your space. Our goal is to share our projects, ideas, and how-tos with you and hopefully help you make your home a place you love. DIY does not require years of experience; you just need the motivation to try (and the courage to push past the fails) and a few tools. We don’t know how to do it all, but we’re excited to share our knowledge and experience with you as well as learn more along the way!

We know we’re not currently living in our forever home. We’d love to move onto some acreage. But we’re not sure when that will happen. So in the meantime, we’ll be working on the home we’re in. I’ve had some people say: why waste time and money on home updates if you’re going to end up moving. And I say: why wait? Make your home a place you love. That’s not a waste. And there’s so much growth, learning, and satisfaction in the process. Plus, who knows….maybe we’ll be in this home longer than we think.

Instagram is The Place To Be!

If you want to see the daily project stuff we’re doing, you should follow along on Instagram where we will be sharing all of our projects, videos, behind the scenes, and more. I post Instagram stories every single day and post almost daily on our feed. And as we complete projects, I’ll be posting blog posts here as well, complete with photos and all the details. I still plan to share some mom life content and our love of baseball because that’s just how we do! 😉

Thanks so much for being here! If you ever have any questions or if there’s a certain kind of DIY project you would like to see, please let us know. We want to be a helpful resource for you. And if you like our content, please share it with your friends! #howwedoandyoucantoo

XO,

Angie & Chad
