Once we decided on the Mohawk SmartStrand carpet, it was time for installation! I always think it’s helpful to see behind the scenes of what goes into getting new carpet, so here’s a look at how the process went for us.
First, the installers rolled out the new carpet and made sure everything was measured and cut correctly. This step is key to making sure the carpet fits perfectly wall to wall.
Tack strips were then laid down around the edges of the room. These strips grip the carpet and help keep it tight and secure, preventing wrinkles and shifting over time.
Next, they used glue on the cut ends and then carefully seamed pieces together using professional tools. This ensures the seams are strong and nearly invisible once the carpet is stretched into place.
