Say goodbye to laundry room chaos! If your laundry room is anything like mine, it is constantly getting more and more cluttered. I have tried so many different laundry room storage solutions. I’ve found that various ideas tend to work best, and hopefully, this list of Laundry Room Storage Solutions helps you come up with some ideas for your own laundry room.
Laundry Room Storage Solutions
There are many ideas for organizing your laundry room, from simple DIYs to installing custom cabinetry. Take a look at your space and this list of simple DIYs. Think through where your problem areas are. Maybe you struggle with clutter on top of your washer and dryer. Perhaps you are constantly slipping on lint and dryer sheets on the floor. Whatever it is, you’re sure to find a solution here.
Magnetic Laundry Storage
Magnetic laundry storage is one of my favorite storage options in my laundry room right now. These come in a huge variety of sizes and shapes and are so handy because they attach right to the side of my washer and dryer. I got a basket that was marketed as a lint holder bin but can be easily used for anything. I use mine for my wool dryer balls. You could store your dryer sheets, washer cleaning tablets, or whatever else you need easy access to.
Rolling Laundry Cart
Invest in a rolling cart with multiple tiers or shelves. This versatile storage solution can be easily moved around as needed and used to store laundry detergents, stain removers, folding supplies, and even sorting baskets. Look for carts with wheels for added convenience. These are inexpensive to purchase. Check at IKEA, your local hardware or craft store, or on Amazon.
Over-the-Door Storage
Utilize the back of your laundry room door by installing an over-the-door organizer. Often, the back of doors aren’t utilized as a storage solution, but they can be especially helpful in a tiny laundry room. This can be a great spot to store cleaning supplies, ironing accessories, or even extra hangers. Look for organizers with pockets or hooks for maximum functionality.
Pegboard Organization
Install a pegboard on the wall and attach hooks or pegs to hang frequently used items such as ironing boards, brooms, or mops. You can also add baskets or small shelves to hold miscellaneous items. Pegboards offer customizable storage options and keep frequently used items within easy reach. They can also be very inexpensive if picked up at Home Depot or Lowes.
Retractable Drying Rack
Installing a retractable drying rack on a wall or inside a cabinet is perfect for air-drying delicate items or clothes that shouldn’t go in the dryer. This space-saving solution can be folded away when not in use, keeping your laundry room tidy and functional. No one likes to have a clunky drying rack taking up valuable space in your laundry rooms, so a retractable drying rack is the perfect solution, especially if you need to air dry a lot of clothing. And you can get a cute gold one, like this.
Floating Shelves
Installing sturdy floating shelves on the walls above your washer and dryer can provide additional storage space for laundry essentials like detergent, fabric softener, and dryer sheets. You can also use baskets or bins to keep smaller items organized. You can easily DIY your shelves or purchase them from a hardware store or online.
