Sometimes, the easiest projects get pushed to the back burner. This is definitely true of installing a paper towel holder in our kitchen. It drives me nuts to have my paper towel rolls hanging out all over my kitchen, but the most minor projects are often the hardest to get motivated to do! I finally got myself to do it today and wanted to tell you how simple it is to install a paper towel holder

Simple Way To Install A Paper Towel Holder

I love having a home for my paper towel rolls, so it’s not cluttering up my counters. A paper towel holder is perfect for that. It’s also incredibly simple to do. Just peel and stick. The hardest part is making sure it’s level. It’s an easy project that you can do in 5 minutes, but it makes your kitchen seem more tidy and less cluttered.

Paper towel holders come in so many styles and colors. I chose a beautiful gold color, but there are so many different colors and styles. You’re sure to find one that matches your kitchen. And then your paper towels will have a home that’s not on your kitchen counter!

Supplies for Installing a Paper Towel Holder

How to Install a Paper Towel Holder

  • Pick out your paper towel holder. I got mine from Amazon in a gold color, but they have a whole bunch of colors that are gorgeous.
  • Clean the inside of your cabinet so your adhesive will stick well and last a long time.
  • Remove the adhesive paper from your paper towel holder, and hold it up in front of the inside of your cabinet. Consider the height you will need to place the paper towel holder and still allow your cabinet door to close with a full roll of paper towels on the holder.
  • Use a level to ensure your paper towel holder is level before sticking it to your cabinet.
  • Add your paper towel roll and you’re done!

Tips For Installing a Paper Towel Holder

  • Pull out your level. I know it seems like a bit of overkill, but if you stick this down and it’s crooked, it’ll bug you until you pull it off! This adhesive is very sticky, and you won’t be able to move it once you push it on. Just make sure it’s level before you do.
  • I put mine under the sink because that’s where I use paper towels the most often, but if you use them elsewhere, put the paper towel holder wherever it will be convenient for you.
  • You can also mount a paper towel holder underneath your upper cabinets if you’d like. I like mine tucked away, but these paper towel holders can be installed under your upper cabinets.

Could I use a command hook so the paper towel holder isn’t permanent?

I don’t see why not. I would probably just put the command strips directly on the paper that covers the adhesive. This would make it easy to come off when you need it to. That said, you’ll need to be more cautious because your paper towel holder will not be as sturdy as using the adhesive that comes on the holder.

What else can I use a paper towel holder for?

I have seen all kinds of unique uses for a standard paper towel holder. You could add a dowel between your two sides and use it to hold tape or ribbons. You could store necklaces or scarves the same way. The best part is that the application is precisely the same. Peel the adhesive backing and stick.

Can I use a paper towel holder in another room?

Sure! If you use paper towels in your bathroom, put a paper towel holder in your bathroom. This can be on the wall, under a cabinet or inside a cabinet. You could also use a paper towel holder in a craft room, garage or anywhere else you use paper towels. It helps keep everything tidy!

I know this was an easy project, but it has been bugging me for weeks! I hope this inspired you to finish up a small project in your home. If you do add a paper towel holder to your kitchen or finish up another project that you’ve been putting off, let me know on IG! I can’t wait to see all your fun projects. #howwedoandyoucantoo
